Hello, and welcome to Modern Rock.ca
My name is Jon Williams and I launched the station on September 1st, 2020.
I’m originally from a town called Malmesbury in the South of England, but I’ve lived in Victoria on Vancouver Island, Canada, for nearly fifteen years. I had worked in modern rock commercial broadcasting for a decade and chose to leave in order to truly explore and challenge my passions.
Modern Rock.ca is a Radio Station, Podcast, and Arts Academy that splits all earnings 50/50 in order to give back to the community that supports me, and the modern rock artists that galvanize my soul.
I don’t expect anything from you, but I will give you all of me.

Modern Rock.ca is a radio station that could take us in any direction. A hub of new music built around Modern Rock, there are no restrictions on a station that specializes in the most exciting new music being released daily. It’s also worth noting that 90% of the playlist is no older than a 2020 release, and the furthest I go back is 2017. Essentially this is your place to discover the best modern rock of the last five years.
