“Jon and the What Was That? community have been so incredibly amazing as they supported me in my time of feeling the absolute lowest.
Jon has been donating funds to cover the cost of my counseling sessions, which has really helped me get back on my feet since I have not been able to afford them since early 2020. Though I have two jobs (one part-time, one on-call) I do not have benefits with either of them that can allow me to see my counselor. Being able to go back has been immensely helpful to my mental health.”

“I have been listening to Jon since day one of his radio career in Victoria, and am delighted to continue with What Was That? Once I was able to become a subscriber, I wasn’t prepared for the amazing community I was joining by doing so. The connections I have made have been unique and will last a lifetime.
During our coldest snap of winter, I lost all power to my RV and the breaker that needed to be replaced was going to cost a lot of money on top of being very hard to find. Due to the pandemic, I lost the majority of my work being a photographer and an artist. A fellow community member got a donation from What was That? to help with his shelter and pets health. He reached out and shared the grant he received from What Was That? with me equally. It brought me to tears.
This is just one of the many giving souls that are a part of this community.
Jon’s beliefs and way of always giving back are building a community of the same, and it all starts with a mutual love of music.”
